Daily Lyric: BAD INFLUENCE / MY GENERATION

Gonna wear my t shirts, gonna wear my jeans

(Talkin’ ‘bout my generation)

Gonna keep my image, gonna make the scene

(Talkin’ ‘bout my generation)

Things they do look awful cold

(Talkin’ ‘bout my generation)

Hope I die before I get old

(Talkin’ ‘bout my generation)

When the heat of the moment comes crashing down

(Talkin’ ‘bout my generation)

Gonna keep myself high up keep on hangin’ around

(Talkin’ ‘bout my generation)

People try to put us down

(Talkin’ ‘bout bad influence)

Just because we get around

(Talkin’ ‘bout bad influence)

We feel just like a rollin’ stone

(Talkin’ ‘bout bad influence)

Yeshiva’s not kosher, B.T. phone home

(Talkin’ ‘bout bad influence)

We’re bad and we’re mad, for your information

(Talkin’ ‘bout bad influence)

Talkin’ ‘bout my generation

(Talkin’ ‘bout bad influence)

Why don’t you all f-f-f-f-fade away

(Talkin’ ‘bout my generation)

Don’t give a damn ‘bout what no rabbis say

(Talkin’ ‘bout my generation)

Ain’t no way I’m gonna learn all day

(Talkin’ ‘bout my generation)

Don’t try and dig what we all say

(Talkin’ ‘bout my generation)

I’m not tryin’ to cause a big sensation

(Talkin’ ‘bout my generation)

My generation

My generation

Why don’t you all f-f-f-f-fade away

(Talkin’ ‘bout bad influence)

Don’t give a damn ‘bout what no rabbis say

(Talkin’ ‘bout bad influence)

Judaism, Zionism, Ismism, war

(Talkin’ ‘bout bad influence)

Don’t know what we’re rebelling against anymore

(Talkin’ ‘bout bad influence)

I’m not tryin’ to cause a big sensation

(Talkin’ ‘bout bad influence)

My generation

My generation, bay-beh.

The Who blow it up.

As the title implies, this song is nothing more or less than a mashup of my song "Bad Influence" with The Who's anthem, "My Generation." It came about during the summer of 1985 when riding in the back of a military troop-carrier truck as my IDF unit and I were being ferried to an evening off in the northern Israeli town of Naharia. I played my rifle like Pete Townshend handling his guitar, and some of my fellow soldiers and commanders thought (perhaps rightfully so) that I was out of my mind. I didn't end the song quite the same way The Who ended it during their infamous appearance on the Smothers Brothers show, though.
