Just for today

I’ll take some action

I won’t fall prey

To my usual distraction

I’ll ignore that devil

And heed my good angel

And let the light chase the darkness away …

I’ll conjure up a way

To resist Resistance

The fear may lurk

Around the edge of my work

But I’ll show up and do it anyway …

For a longer stay

In this land of the living

Although I’ll still cave in

To the thrill of the sin

I’ll wash my hands of my wayward way …

It's all too easy to fall into bad patterns that are detrimental to productivity and progress. Similar in sentiment to the "one day at a time" 12-step mantra.
