Lyric of the Week: TOO MUCH TIME AND NOTHING TO DO

Too much time and nothing to do

Too much time and nothing to do

We’re all a bit crazy here

It’s what keeps us from going insane

Now if we only had a brain

Too much time and nothing to do

Find yourself sleeping with a

Forty-four-year-old married nurse

What could be worse

Oh, she really wants you

The day I won’t have enough time on my hands

Is the day they’ll start speaking Yiddish in Kurdistan

Talking in tune

Howling at the moon

Playing like a goon YEAH!

Too much time and nothing to do

Daddy gave me about everything he could give

Now I won’t do a day’s work as long as I live

Too much money

It ain’t even funny

When your lifestyle’s crummy YEAH!

Too much time and nothing to do

I chose this abstract image rather than try to illustrate the scenario in the second verse.
I chose this abstract image rather than try to illustrate the scenario in the second verse.

Doesn't need much by way of explanation ... written during my army years, when I only wished I had too much time on my hands with nothing to do. Musically, I was thinking of the live version of Lou Reed's "I Wanna Be Black," with a fast 6/8 shuffle groove. Never recorded or performed.
